Scott McIntyre is a football journalist based in Tokyo who, in addition to reporting on the game, enjoys looking at the human element of the world’s most popular sport. He’s covered three FIFA World Cups, four AFC Asian Cups and numerous other club and national tournaments right across the planet and has travelled extensively across Asia for the past two decades, from Iraq and Palestine to Guam and Southeast Asia.

Paul Williams is an Adelaide-based football writer who has reported on the comings and goings of Asian football for the past decade. Having covered the past two Asian Cups, he writes regularly about the J.League for Optus Sport in Australia, while he also regularly contributes to Arab News. Further, he has previously been published by outlets such as FOX Sports Asia, Al Jazeera English, FourFourTwo, and appeared on numerous TV and radio shows to discuss Asian football.

Michael Church first started writing about football in Asia when he moved to Hong Kong in 1995 and he has covered every AFC Asian Cup since 1996 and every FIFA World Cup since the finals were held in France in 1998. He spends much more time than is healthy sitting on planes and loitering in hotel lobbies and is also a committed fan of most things featuring loud, distorted guitars.

Martin Lowe is a freelance football writer who has been covering Asian football for the best part of the last decade. He appeared on Al Jazeera television and Football Nation Radio during the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, whilst writing for Sandals for Goalposts and other Asian football focused platforms. He has been a senior contributor to The Asian Game website since our launch in 2019.

Chiranth is our in-house videographer and the visionary who helps bring our feature series – ‘The Asian Game: Insights’ – together. Having worked on the AFC digital team at previous AFC Women’s Asian Cups and AFC Asian Cups, as well as with Indian powerhouse Bengaluru FC among a bevy of other clients, the now Sydney-based videographer is one of The Asian Game’s most prized assets.
